This is the first time I’ve referred a patient to the UNC virtual IOP and it has been the best experience I’ve had coordinating with a higher level of care.  <\/p>\n

UNC\u2019s IOP provides psychological services for adolescents ages 13-17 and young adults ages 18-30 with a mood disorder and\/or anxiety who need a level of treatment less complex than hospitalization but more intense than traditional outpatient therapy.\u202f<\/span>\u200b<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Patients who might benefit from IOP include those being discharged from a psychiatric hospital or Emergency Department and those who may not meet criteria for hospitalization but are having increasing difficulty managing their depression and\/or anxiety.\u202f\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Referrals\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n

To make a referral in Epic, select \u201cAMB REFERRAL TO PSYCH\u201d and \u201cUNC PSYCHIATRY IOP CHAPEL HILL\u201d as the location.<\/span>
\nNon-Epic users may call 984-974-4444. <\/span>Referrals can be faxed to (919-957-6613)
