The UNC Addiction Medicine Fellowship participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), otherwise known as the MATCH.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Items required with ERAS Submission<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Curriculum Vitae<\/p>\n<p>Medical School Transcript<\/p>\n<p>Transcript of USMLE Scores<\/p>\n<p>Dean\u2019s letter (from where you graduated medical school, also called MSPE)<\/p>\n<p>Personal Statement<\/p>\n<p>Three (3) Letters of Reference <strong>written within the past year<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One (1) letter of reference from the Program Director of the residency program in which the Resident has most recently served<\/li>\n<li>Two letters of reference, either 1) from members of the medical staff of the hospital with the residency program from which you most recently served OR 2) from physicians with current knowledge of your experience, ability, educational accomplishments and character.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>FOREIGN GRADUATES:<\/strong> ALL graduates of foreign medical schools\u00a0must have completed an ACGME accredited residency, must be certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) and must meet all VISA Qualifying Examination (VQE) or Foreign Medical Graduate Exam in the Medical Sciences (FMGEMS) requirements\u00a0<strong>prior to application<\/strong>.\u00a0Per the University of North Carolina Graduate Medical Education Policy on Visas, <strong><em>University of North Carolina Hospitals will accept resident physicians who have been issued a J-1 Visa<\/em><\/strong> and who hold a <strong><em>current ECFMG Certificate<\/em><\/strong>. H1-B visas are not sponsored at University of North Carolina Hospitals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SELECTED APPLICANTS: <\/strong>All applicants selected for the fellowship will be required to submit:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>UNC Hospitals Application for Appointment to Graduate Medical Education,<\/li>\n<li>Pre-employment drug screening.<\/li>\n<li>Signed background check verification.<\/li>\n<li>Any resident who has a disability (according to the Americans with Disabilities Act) and\/or special restrictions on his\/her medical license must report this information and requests for accommodations to the Program Director and the OGME no later than the first day his\/her residency program begins.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>APPLICATION PROCESS The UNC Addiction Medicine Fellowship will accept applications for the upcoming academic year through ERAS.
