It identifies projects that can use the collective expertise of the group to enhance the department\u2019s mission. It also supports clinicians and other scientists in the department who want to harness innovations in data sciences and technology to improve mental health. The Mental Health Informatics and Analytics Core was formed in August 2020<\/p>\n<p>If you have a project that may need data and informatics support, please <a href=\"https:\/\/calendly.com\/xiaomingzeng\/office-hour\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">request a meeting<\/a> during the Mental Health Informatics and Data Analytics <a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/psych\/research\/research-support\/informatics-and-data-analytics-core\/mhida-office-hours\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">office hour.<\/a> More information about the office hour could be found here.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Primary Aims:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><strong>Education<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Continue first-in-the-nation psychiatry informatics resident track.<\/li>\n<li>Increase informatics education to general psychiatry trainees through dedicated informatics lecture series.<\/li>\n<li>Identify opportunities for trainees to become involved in QI and research projects informed by informatics.<\/li>\n<li>Promote health informatics knowledge across the department.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Clinical Care<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Continue and increase efforts to support provider EHR efficiency through provider education and through EHR improvement efforts.<\/li>\n<li>Identify, develop, and disseminate tools for gathering meaningful, data-informed clinical care insights from the EHR.<\/li>\n<li>Enhance available mental health decision-support tools.<\/li>\n<li>Support extension of our current care through mobile apps and other new technologies.<\/li>\n<li>Build population health dashboards for our general and specialty psychiatric services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Research<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide expertise in statistics, analytics, and health data management to support grantsmanship.<\/li>\n<li>Develop informatics-focused research projects.<\/li>\n<li>Support proper technique in data collection with quality control, statistical and predictive modeling, and interpretation of scientific data generated in the mental health sciences.<\/li>\n<li>Build dashboards for research data visualization and analytics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Collaborations<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Map the landscape of UNC system informatics and analytics expertise in order to facilitate partnerships and link department faculty with appropriate resources.<\/li>\n<li>Partner on mental health informatics projects with UNC groups outside of the department of psychiatry.<\/li>\n<li>Look for potential partners in other academic medical centers or industry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Mental Health Informatics and Analytics Core in the Department of Psychiatry consists of a group of collaborators with expertise in informatics, data sciences, biostatistics, quality improvement, and clinical care.
