Lindsey was surprised by the honor at a recent gathering of leaders from across UNC Health\u2019s statewide network.<\/p>\n<p>Following a standing ovation, Lindsey expressed his gratitude for the recognition and his tremendous respect for the thousands of teammates all across UNC Health who have dedicated their careers to providing outstanding healthcare to the people of North Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>Lindsey was appointed Chief Medical Officer for UNC Hospitals in 2010, and then as UNC Health\u2019s first Chief Medical Officer (CMO) in 2015, a position he held through his retirement in 2024.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Tony Lindsey, Psychiatry Professor and UNC Health\u2019s former Chief Medical and Quality Officer, was recently inducted into the Order of the Longleaf Pine, North Carolina\u2019s most prestigious honorary society.
