Since joining the UNC faculty in 2013, Dr. Williams\u2019 clinical work has primarily focused on evaluating and treating individuals with substance use disorders. He also provides telepsychiatry services to individuals who are incarcerated in the North Carolina state prison system. Dr. Williams has published in medical journals including Academic Psychiatry, the Journal of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, PLoS One, the Journal of Addiction Medicine, the Journal of ECT, the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American Journal of Psychiatry, the North Carolina Medical Journal, the Journal of Correctional Health Care, Psychiatric Services, the Journal of Clinical Psychopharmacology, and JAMA Psychiatry. He has presented research at national conferences in the fields of forensic psychiatry, carceral health care, and addiction medicine.
