Dr. Hiruma is a Clinical Assistant Professor and Psychologist at the UNC Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities (CIDD), which is the University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) for North Carolina. She specializes in evaluating and treating individuals with neurodevelopmental differences including autism, intellectual disability, and neurogenetic conditions across the lifespan. Her scope of practice involves diagnostic evaluation, developmental assessment, and evidence-based interventions for individuals with complex developmental and behavioral needs. Specific areas of expertise include treatment of co-occurring behavioral health conditions, sleep disorders, and social communication challenges.
