In October 2018, 4th-year Diagnostic Radiology Resident Dr. Josh Wallace was awarded a UNC School of Medicine Office of International Activities (OIA) Scholarship and an NC American College of Radiology (ACR) Global Health Fellowship to support month-long medical mission travel as a UNC Radiology Malawi Program participant.

Diagnostic Radiology Program Director Dr. Sheri Jordan noted: “That he received dual scholarships at the institutional and professional organization levels speaks to Josh’s achievements both as a Diagnostic Radiology resident, and as a resident leader. During the month he was onsite as a UNC Radiology Malawi Program participant, Josh applied himself 200%. In collaborative manner, Josh both shared his knowledge of imaging with partnering medical officers and house officers at Kamuzu Central Hospital, and he learned a great deal about radiology delivery in the low-resource setting.”
