Castillo Scholars
Launched in 2021, the Mauricio Castillo, MD Diversity and Inclusion Scholars program addresses racial and gender disparities that exist across many medical specialties. This 8-week summer program extends educational, research, and mentorship opportunities to UNC School of Medicine minority student scholars pursuing one of four specialties working to close gaps in minority representation.
Our Department’s Diagnostic Radiology and Interventional Radiology residents embrace a culture of diversity and inclusion within their resident family and as members of the UNC Department of Radiology. Our residents stand shoulder to shoulder with all School of Medicine resident colleagues in condemning acts of brutality linked to systemic racism.
UNC Department of Radiology members are involved in DEI initiatives and leadership and work closely with the School of Medicine to advance the mission and activities in diversity, equity and inclusion.
