Word from our Chiefs

The Carolina Way

The “Carolina Way” is a philosophy that legendary basketball coach Dean Smith instilled in his players and that the University of North Carolina engenders in its students.  As it relates to basketball, this philosophy is about playing together, playing hard, and respecting your teammates and opponents.  As it relates to our university, it is a culture of excellence and a commitment to others, our state, and our global community.  Our belief in this philosophy, as well as the immutable bond that links our alumni, creates what we affectionately refer to as "The UNC Family."

UNC Radiology seeks to foster "the Carolina Way" in our department as well.  State of the art equipment, world-renowned faculty, and the dedication to teaching keep us focused on this standard of excellence.  However, our commitment to one another truly sets us apart; we serve a varied and complex patient population while doing so in a family atmosphere.  Our residents are not just colleagues, but friends beyond the halls of the hospital.  An annual basketball tournament, trivia/karaoke nights, and impromptu weekend outings further these friendships and family atmosphere.

Please take some time to explore our website and learn more about who we are.  We welcome any questions and hope you have a chance to visit so that you can find out why Chapel Hill is known as “the southern part of heaven.”
