R2 Dr. Sean Wagner, Associate Professor Dr. Ellie Lee

At the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA)’s 105th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL, in December 2019, 7 Diagnostic Radiology residents and multiple Department faculty produced a strong showing for UNC at the largest annual meeting of professionals in radiology.  Faculty and resident attendees showcased scholarly accomplishments in exhibit halls, moderated sessions and poster discussions, and facilitated educational courses with a range of peers in the field.

Recognition

R2s Abiola Femi-abodunde, MD, and Rachel Brader, MD, were selected as RSNA 2019 “Introduction to Academic Radiology (ITAR)” program participants. Annually at RSNA, ITAR participants learn how research, didactics and other areas of academic radiology define this career path. ITAR participants receive a $1,000 grant to apply toward advancing in academic radiology, in collaboration with their training program.

Jaspreet Hira, MD, served as UNC’s Resident Representative in the R2 program.

Associate Professor Lauren M.B. Burke, MD, co-authored an educational exhibit — “Should We Use Oral Contrast in CT Imaging?” – that received a Certificate of Merit (Authors: Warfa MK, Goyal A, Arif H, Burke LMB, Kielar AZ, Lalwani N).

At an RSNA 2019 award ceremony, Radiology reporting service Aunt Minnie.com recognized Associate Professor Yueh Z. Lee, MD, PhD, for most viewed abstract — Light-field displays enable 3D visualization on PC screens — in the “Advanced Visualization” section in AuntMinnie.com pre-RSNA editorial coverage.
