The Cardiothoracic Imaging Division in the UNC Department of Radiology is overseen by radiologists with expertice in cardiovascular and thoracic imaging. The division is responsible for interpretation of portable and conventional chest radiographs, thoracic computed tomography examinations, and cardiac CT and MRI studies, as well as the performance of chest fluoroscopy. Cardiothoracic imaging is an active service with close working relationships with pulmonology, oncology, internal medicine, cardiology, and cardiac and thoracic surgical services. Several Cardiothoracic Imaging Division faculty serve as integral members of the Multidisciplinary Thoracic Oncology Program, which provides diagnostic services and therapeutic options for patients with thoracic malignancies using a multidisciplinary team approach.
