Ben Smith Reading Room

The Division of Pediatric Imaging provides a wide range of services from diagnostic exams (plain films, fluoroscopy, US, CT and MRI) to biopsies and US-guided fine needle aspirations as needed. Pediatric nuclear medicine, neuroradiology and interventional radiology services are also available in the department. Our Division works in close collaboration with pediatric anesthesiologists to provide anesthesia and sedation for diagnostic testing (e.g., MRIs, CT scans, etc.) when necessary. We use state-of-the-art, low-radiation dose equipment which is being continuously upgraded. We have child-friendly faculty, staff and facilities to make your child’s experience as enjoyable as possible.

Our pediatric team is trained in advanced imaging studies with experts in fetal imaging, cardiac, and body MRI.

Our dedicated cardiac imaging experts play a fundamental role in diagnosis and treatment planning of complex congenital cardiac diseases

High quality MRI images are performed for a variety of disease processes including for the evaluation of multifocal pathologies such as Chronic Multifocal Recurrent Osteomyelitis (CRMO) and cancer predisposition syndromes

Fetal MRI improves the prenatal diagnosis of complex fetal anomalies helping families understand their baby’s outcomes and helping clinicians decide the best treatment plan before and after delivery
