U.S. News & World Report consistently ranks the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the top tier of its annual rankings report, which ranks 1500+ academic institutions and areas of scholarly concentration worldwide. In its 2021 Best Global Universities Rankings, U.S. News & World Report ranked UNC Department of Radiology 32nd in Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and Medical Imaging. For 2021, UNC ranked 36th (tie) in the list of Best Global Universities. In the U.S. News & World Report 2021 Subject Rankings, multiple UNC basic science and clinical research divisions and departments ranked highly, among them: Pharmacology and Toxicology (#2); Gastroenterology and Hepatology (#11); Infectious Diseases (#11); and Microbiology (#14).
