Jennifer Schroeder, MD, received her bachelor\u2019s degree from Appalachian State University in 2010 before earning her Medical Degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2014. She completed her intern year at the Medical University of South Carolina in Surgery before moving on to a Radiology Residency at Wake Forest School of Medicine. She continued her education with a Nuclear Radiology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n

Dr. Schroeder has always been fascinated by the intricacies of the human <\/span>body and<\/span> has been driven by her desire to understand how it works<\/span> to use that knowledge to help others<\/span>. As a visual individual, <\/span>imaging<\/span> and the complex caseload attracted her to Radiology. Radiology is a way of combining her scientific interests with visuals and anatomy.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Professional Interests<\/h2>\n

Dr. Schroder is involved in medical education and advocacy work outside the reading room and clinic. She previously held leadership roles in the Women in Radiology and departmental <\/span>D<\/span>iversity<\/span>, Equity, and Inclusion committee. <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Research<\/h2>\n
Dr. Schroeder has previously been awarded internal grants for medical educational research in radiology. <\/span>The goal this research is to improve real-time resident evaluation to allow for more objective assessment, thus improving feedback and decreasing the need for resident remediation.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Since subjective evaluations disproportionately disadvantage minorities, the hope is to improve feedback provided to trainees, \u00a0with the ultimate goal to improve trainee experience, performance, and future success. This is especially important for those who identify with minority groups and efforts such as these can ultimately help to improve minority representation in the radiology field<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

She has also studies and implemented several quality improvement projects related to the standardization of the interpretation of PET imaging as a means of improving communication between radiologists and ordering clinicians. Results show that these measures translates into better patient care.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

Philosophy of Care<\/h2>\n

My philosophy in life is to be the best person I can be to the people in my life, including my patients. This means that I take continuing education very seriously, and I am always looking for feedback for ways to improve my knowledge base, my practice, and my personal skills. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
