As the first person involved in medicine in her family, she found it to be an extremely rewarding career, seeing how quickly patients can improve with different minimally invasive therapies.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"ContentPasted1\">Dr. Keefe completed her General Surgery internship, Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology residency, and Interventional Radiology fellowship at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. Following this, she spent over a year in private practice in Raleigh. She joined UNC\u2019s Department of Radiology in January 2022 as Assistant Professor. She currently serves as Associate Program Director for Interventional Radiology.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Specialty<\/h2>\n<div>Dr. Keefe\u2019s clinical interests include complex IVC filter removals and venous reconstructions, vertebral augmentation, women\u2019s health, and endoleak treatment.<\/div>\n<h2>Research<\/h2>\n<div>Her research interests include education, pregnancy and vascular disease. She serves on the American College of Radiology expert panel on vascular imaging.<\/div>\n<h2>Philosophy of Care<\/h2>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">I believe in always providing patients with the best care for their problems, whether that be with another provider or with me. Our job as physicians is \u201cFirst, do no harm.\u201d I try to ensure that the procedures I do offer the highest benefit with the lowest risk possible.
