Tony Jeanmenne, MD, completed the musculoskeletal imaging fellowship at the University of California \u2013 San Diego, California (2014-15), where he served as Chief Fellow. Prior to that, he completed medical school and residency in diagnostic radiology at Southern Illinois University in Springfield, Illinois (2010-14), where he was awarded the RSNA Roentgen Research Award for the creation of an iPad application used for radiology education. He has presented his work at multiple national radiology meetings.<\/p>\n

Dr. Jeanmenne knew he wanted to become a radiologist before starting medical school. While in college, he had the opportunity to observe image-guided procedures during hospital volunteering experiences. Radiology is an excellent mix of anatomy, pathology, technology, and procedural patient care.<\/p>\n

For six years prior to joining UNC Radiology, Dr. Jeanmenne worked at Center for Diagnostic Imaging (Sartell, MN).\u00a0 While at CDI, Dr. Jeanmenne has completed several projects with the CDI Quality Institute. Most recently he authored \u201cThe Consult: Appropriate Use of Imaging in Patients with Knee Pain,\u201d as part of a qualified Provider Led Entity for Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) to assist referring medical providers in selecting the best cross-sectional imaging study for their patient.\u00a0 Dr. Jeanmenne’s clinical and teaching interests include MRI interpretation and image-guided procedures.<\/p>\n

  1. Diagnostic and Therapeutic Image-guided procedures of the joints and lumbar spine.<\/li>\n
  2. MR Imaging interpretation of sports medicine injuries of all joints.<\/li>\n
  3. Complex joint pathology presentations, such as hip and shoulder impingement, and traumatic ligament injuries to the knee.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Bone and joint imaging with a focus on sports medicine injury diagnosis utilizing MR Imaging.<\/p>\n
