Battle Distinguished Cancer Research Award<\/p>\n<p>in recognition of his outstanding contributions to basic cancer research.<\/p>\n<p>Hyman\u00a0L. Battle (1896-1972) first established The Battle Foundation in 1946.\u00a0\u00a0Like his grandfather Kemp Plummer Battle, an early President of UNC-Chapel\u00a0Hill,\u00a0Hyman\u00a0was deeply interested in education, and likewise became a leader of several\u00a0academic\u00a0institutions, including UNC-Chapel\u00a0Hill.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations Dr. Zhang \u2013 well
