The system was acquired in 2022 through the Cs-Irradiator Replacement Project (CIRP) sponsored by the Department of Energy. It can provide CT image-guided radiation to a target tissue\/region, and deliver precise radiation with high repeatability. The CT imaging unit can provide images at a nominal resolution of 100 microns. The system is equipped with (5) fixed collimators as well as an adjustable collimator unit.<\/p>\n<p>The primary features include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Irradiation Energy<\/strong>: 10-225 kVp, 4500 W<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dose rate<\/strong>: 1-6 Gy\/min<\/li>\n<li><strong>Collimation<\/strong>: conformal collimators available in sizes from 1 mm to 100 mm<\/li>\n<li><strong>Isocenter distance<\/strong>: 30 cm typical<\/li>\n<li><strong>Image-guided targeting precision<\/strong>: up to 0.1 mm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Small Animal Radiation Therapy (SmART+) system (Precision X-ray, Inc.) is an image-guided irradiator dedicated for preclinical research involving radiation.
