The Weight Loss Clinic is a free, student-run clinic that offers weight management services.

Our goal is to help patients achieve long-term, sustainable weight loss outcomes while improving overall patient health and quality of life. Our program offers counseling on topics related to diet, physical activity, stress management, sleep habits, etc. We work with individuals to identify realistic weight loss goals and develop personalized plans which may include lifestyle changes, dietary modifications, and/or medication recommendations.

Our supervising physician, Dr. Sriram Machineni, is the director of UNC Medical Weight Program and Assistant Professor of Medicine at UNC.

The clinic operates on the last Wednesday of every month, from 5:30 to 9:00pm as part of the Student Health Action Coalition at the Carrboro Community Health Center (301 Lloyd St. in Carrboro, NC). To schedule an appointment, please contact the SHAC Medical Clinic at 984-538-1031.
