Since its inception in 1967, the clinic has evolved considerably while retaining its original mission: to serve the health needs of individuals who are unable to access the health care system. SHAC has grown from its humble beginnings in private residences of generous supporters to its present location at the\u00a0<a class=\"external-link\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.piedmonthealth.org\/locations\/carrboro-community-health-center\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carrboro Community Health Center<\/a>, one of North Carolina\u2019s best primary care facilities.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><div class=\"panel panel-primary  oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n<div class=\"panel-heading oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff\">Location &amp; Hours<\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><div class=\"panel-body oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Our free medical clinic operates every Wednesday from 5:30PM to 10:00PM, with appointments starting at 5:30PM. It is located at:<a class=\"external-link\" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?q=301+Lloyd+St,+Carrboro,+NC+27510,+USA&amp;amp;ie=UTF8&amp;amp;z=16&amp;amp;iwloc=addr&amp;amp;om=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><br \/>\nCarrboro Community Health Center<br \/>\n301 Lloyd St<br \/>\nCarrboro, NC 27510<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><h2 class=\"section-som\"><span>About Us<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Medical Clinic provides the following services free of charge:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Acute care for minor medical problems<\/li>\n<li>Men and women\u2019s health examinations and counseling<\/li>\n<li>Physical examinations for school, work, and camp<\/li>\n<li>Childhood vaccinations<\/li>\n<li>Comprehensive laboratory<\/li>\n<li>On-site pharmacy<\/li>\n<li>Social work<\/li>\n<li>Health education<\/li>\n<li>STI\/STD testing and counseling (via SHAC XYZ)<\/li>\n<li>Chronic disease management (via Bridge to Care)<\/li>\n<li>Transitioning services (SHAC Bridge to Care)<\/li>\n<li>Interpreting services for Spanish and Mandarin<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Several specialty services are also offered for free on a monthly basis, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Gender Affirming Care Clinic<\/li>\n<li>Mental Health<\/li>\n<li>Ophthalmology for adults<\/li>\n<li>Physical Therapy<\/li>\n<li>Nutrition Counseling<\/li>\n<li>Well Women<\/li>\n<li>Well Child<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"section-som\"><span>Make an Appointment<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>*If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 or go to the UNC Hospitals Emergency Department at 101 Manning Dr, Chapel Hill, NC*<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our medical teams are only able to offer care for acute emergency needs.
