SHAC has many programs, both clinical and\u00a0community-based, at which\u00a0<strong>currently enrolled<\/strong> undergraduates and graduate students in the health professions may volunteer. Attending-level positions are also open to UNC Healthcare residents and physicians. See our <a class=\"external-link\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/adminliveunc.sharepoint.com\/:w:\/s\/SHAC928-ChiefOfficers-Private\/EepGif1C6LdPohhy40BmttQBBuajlky6N_TivmoweuaBfA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">job description handbook<\/a><span class=\"anchor-link\">\u00a0for descriptions of roles and\u00a0<a class=\"external-link\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/adminliveunc.sharepoint.com\/:x:\/s\/SHAC928-ChiefOfficers-Private\/EVNIyCfVdOZNlkNtDnhg_3QBkCW-BYubspSep6D_74mrnA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">eligibility table<\/a>\u00a0to determine if you are eligible for a particular role.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>A quick overview of each position is listed below:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chief Officers (leadership) \u2013 Provides administrative support to active programs and sets the strategic direction for the entire SHAC program.<\/li>\n<li>Student Representatives (leadership) \u2013 Functions as a \u201cboard of directors\u201d, voting on changes to the bylaws, approving budgets\/annual program reviews, and advocating for the school they represent.<\/li>\n<li>Program Directors (leadership) \u2013 Supervises the operations and development of the applicable program and directs managers and staff accordingly.<\/li>\n<li>Managers (leadership) \u2013 Oversees specific program functions as needed and directs staff accordingly.<\/li>\n<li>Staff \u2013 Contributes the majority of the volunteer services; includes both annual and single-event positions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>SHAC\u2019s main purpose is to provide health services to underserved individuals and communities through an interdisciplinary learning environment for students at UNC.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/adminliveunc.sharepoint.com\/:w:\/s\/SHAC928-ChiefOfficers-Private\/EcQwZBao9IRMpyCpGdo_JoIBeQ3xVFUKKIO5Ybstz3iKyg?e=ByNQKx\">SHAC\u2019s bylaws<\/a>\u00a0provide a high-level description of how the organization functions and the executive staff that supports it.
