The Secure Health Informatics Research Environment (SHIRE) is a new secure cloud computing environment built through investment and resources from the UNC School of Medicine, NC TraCS Institute, and UNC Health, as part of the Accelerate Forward Together and Forward Together 2020 strategic plans. The SHIRE is partnering with researchers across the UNC-Chapel Hill campus and UNC Research to offer a full-featured analytics platform where users can securely work with sensitive data from UNC Health’s electronic health record (EHR).
