A PANEL DISCUSSION: THE NICARAGUAN CRISIS: CAUSES AND CONSEQUENCES

Join distinguished professors and activists for an open discussion on the causes and consequences of the political crisis affecting Nicaragua. Learn about the human rights violations, social development setbacks, and healthcare implications of the political instability affecting millions.

Moderated by Andrea Prego, a fellow UNC student and Nicaraguan immigrant, and will be featuring the following panel of distinguished professors and activists:

Dr. Edmund Campion: Distinguished Professor of Orthopedics and an Orthopedic Surgeon with years of experience in providing healthcare and educational resources to Nicaragua

Dr. Florence Babb: Distinguished Professor of Anthropology with fieldwork experience in cultural politics throughout Nicaragua and Latin America

Tamara Davila Rivas: on-the-ground Nicaraguan activist and recent detainee of the Nicaraguan government

Ron Garcia-Fogarty: activist in Nicaragua and in the United States
