Bullitt History of Medicine Club: “AIDS and the Americans with Disabilities Act at Quarter Century”

Travis Alexander, Mellon Graduate Fellow, Department of English and Comparative Literature, UNC-Chapel HillThis talk will discuss the political motivations behind the Americans with Disabilities Act’s inclusion of HIV/AIDS under the banner of “disability.”

Travis Alexander is a Mellon Graduate Fellow at UNC-Chapel Hill. His research focuses on critical race studies, queer theory, and psychoanalysis. His writing has been published, and is forthcoming in Boundary 2 and Symploke.
