ETHICAL ISSUES IN CARING FOR THE UNDERSERVED: THE VULNERABLE, MARGINALIZED, AND FORGOTTEN

This is the biennial conference of the Clinical Ethics Network of North Carolina (CENNC)
Objectives:
By the end of this conference the learner will be able to . . .
• Describe the health care needs of underserved populations in North Carolina.
• Explain ethical issues that arise in caring for underserved populations in North Carolina.
• Formulate strategies to help resolve or mitigate the ethical issues that arise in caring for underserved populations in North Carolina.
Call for papers by May 1, 2019
We invite submission of abstracts for presentations related to our theme. Topics might include but are not limited to ethical issues related to undocumented residents, veterans, natural disaster relief, rural populations, addiction, prisoners, and patients with mental health needs. Presentation formats include paper presentations and case presentations with discussion.
Session length will be 50 minutes. Please email abstracts to J. Clint Parker at parkerjo@ecu.edu. Please limit abstract length to 300 words or less. The deadline for submission is May 1, 2019.
