The Face of Death: An evening with Caitlin Doughty, Duke Theater Studies and Franklin Humanities Institute

February 25, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

A New York Times best-selling author (Smoke Gets In Your Eyes & Other Lessons from the Crematory), Caitlin Doughty is a Los Angeles mortician and death theorist. Her use of personal storytelling has propelled her to the national forefront as an advocate for bringing the realistic discussion of death back into popular culture. Join Duke faculty Jules Odendahl-James (Theater Studies) and Jehanne Gheith (Slavic and Licensed Clinical Social Worker for Duke Hospice) afterwards in conversation about the neccesity of sharing our stories in order to face our fears. A Humanities Futures event.https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-face-of-death-an-evening-with-caitlin-doughty-tickets-32003747069
