SPO \u2013 Sherry Whitaker \u2013 <a style=\"background-color: #ffffff\" href=\"mailto:grants@unc.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">grants@unc.edu<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5>The Other Support document is to include all resources made available to a researcher in support of and\/or related to all of their research endeavors, regardless of whether or not they have monetary value and regardless of whether they are based at the institution the researcher identifies for the current grant.<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Get started<\/strong> \u2013 download the Office of Sponsored Research <a href=\"https:\/\/research.unc.edu\/files\/2019\/09\/OSR-Sample-NIH-Other-Support-Template-All-Resources-Domestic-and-Foreign.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Other Support template<\/a> and allow it to provide you an overview for items to consider<\/li>\n<li><strong>Start small<\/strong> \u2013 one award at a time and apply the items of consideration from the Office of Sponsored Research Other Support template.<\/li>\n<li><strong>When in doubt<\/strong> \u2013 Include items of Other Support if you are unsure, NIH guidance on this is to err on the side of full disclosure.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ask for guidance<\/strong> \u2013 Do you have extenuating circumstance based upon the complexity of your research? Consider \u201cReasonable Transparency\u201d to reduce the administrative burden of preparing the Other Support document.\n<ul>\n<li><em>Summary Approach<\/em> \u2013 Do you have large numbers of Grad Students or Collaborators? Summarize then into groups with relevant details for each group and a promise to provide full details upon request<\/li>\n<li><em>Reference Approach<\/em> \u2013 Do you have extensive in-kind lab\/office space? Reference the Facilities &amp; Other Resources Document submitted with the initial application.<\/li>\n<li><em>Associated Approach<\/em> &#8211; Do you have one list of collaborators?
