{"id":2848,"date":"2018-06-22T11:25:59","date_gmt":"2018-06-22T15:25:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/spo\/?p=2848"},"modified":"2018-06-22T11:29:03","modified_gmt":"2018-06-22T15:29:03","slug":"new-ramses-enhancement-rolled-out-06-22-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/spo\/2018\/06\/new-ramses-enhancement-rolled-out-06-22-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"New RAMSeS Enhancement rolled out 06\/22\/2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>New RAMSeS Enhancement rolled out 06\/22\/2018<\/h2>\n<h5>In the RAMSeS IPF, four questions have been added to the Human Subjects section of the Research Subjects screen that are required if the project involves Human Subjects research.<\/h5>\n<p>The four YES \/ No questions are \u2026<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Does the research include \u201chuman subjects research\u201d as defined by federal regulations, including exempt research where data is identifiable?<\/li>\n<li>Does the research involve the collection or use of biospecimens that are individually identifiable or for which there is at least a very small risk that there is some way to deduce the identity of an individual?<\/li>\n<li>Does the research generate individual level, human genomic data from biospecimens, or the use of such data, regardless of whether the data is \u201cidentifiable\u201d per the Common Rule?<\/li>\n<li>Does the research involve information about an individual for which there is at least a very small risk, as determined by current scientific practices or statistical methods, that the subject\u2019s identity could be deduced?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">On funded proposals involving Human Subjects<\/span> research whose sponsor\/prime sponsor is the National Institutes of Health (NIH), a new Certificate of Confidentiality (CoC) notification email will be sent to the<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead PI<\/li>\n<li>departmental PS Project ID Managers<\/li>\n<li>IPF Owner<\/li>\n<li>Primary Award Contact (designated via the proposal&#8217;s General Info screen)<\/li>\n<li>Sponsored Projects Specialist<\/li>\n<li>Office of Human Research Ethics (OHRE)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">This notification email is informational only<\/span> and will outline that a CoC will be issued automatically for any NIH-funded project using identifiable, sensitive information that was ongoing on or after December 13, 2016.
