{"id":3667,"date":"2022-07-01T17:05:37","date_gmt":"2022-07-01T21:05:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/spo\/?p=3667"},"modified":"2025-03-20T12:52:27","modified_gmt":"2025-03-20T16:52:27","slug":"spo-pact-initiative-is-underway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/spo\/2022\/07\/spo-pact-initiative-is-underway\/","title":{"rendered":"SPO PACT initiative is underway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recently the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) [formally known as Office of Sponsored Research OSR] announced that the Proposal &amp; Award Communication Teamwork (PACT) initiative is underway.<\/p>\n<p>The objective of Proposal &amp; Award Communication Teamwork (PACT) is to create a strong partnership that is centered around effective communication between the department and the central office to support Research Administration at UNC. The key guidelines of PACT are to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide guidance on critical topics<\/li>\n<li>Increase transparency and support around critical elements of the award lifecycle through structured discussions<\/li>\n<li>Build on best practices through regular occurring discussions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To maximize the efficiency gains offered by this initiative, the Sponsored Programs Office (SPO) will be adopting the portfolio, department-based, support structure like the OSP support model.
