Why Choose NC Jaycee Burn Center<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n

The North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center provides the very best care available. The men and women who work here take pride in their work and invest great energy towards positive outcomes. The Burn Center uses advanced technology and methods to provide a wide range of care for all types of burns for all age groups.<\/article>\n

\"Patient<\/p>\n

Our \u201cCarolina Care\u201d ensures that the patient is the center focus of all relationships with the Burn Team in the Burn Center. Key relationships facilitate the healing process physically and emotionally and enable the burn injured patient to return to the highest level of functioning. Our Burn Team consists of highly trained expert professionals including: physicians and physician assistants; nurses and nursing assistants; physical, recreational, respiratory, and occupational therapists; inpatient and aftercare chaplains; teachers; dietitians; social workers; and a rehabilitation counselor, one of only two in the country working exclusively with burn patients.<\/p>\n

When a patient enters the Burn Center, our main priority is to manage the injury while minimizing the pain. Initially, we work as a team to evaluate, clean and cover the wounds; control pain; provide fluid for fluid loss from the burn wound; and check for other related injuries. After we have stabilized the patient and covered the wounds, our team works around the clock to monitor patient progress, coordinate care and services for the patient, and educate the patient and family members of ongoing status and future plans for treatment and recovery.<\/p>

<\/p>Our pediatric and adult burn clinics, along with our outpatient occupational and physical therapy clinics located directly in the Burn Center, allow the team to provide a continuity of care and the opportunity for us to monitor patient progress regularly. Our Burn Team works closely with our patients and their families to help burn survivors return to active, healthy lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
