Abdominal Transplant<\/a><\/h2>\n

The University of North Carolina is home to one of the most accomplished and dedicated transplant teams in the region. Certified by the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, our mission is the advance of transplantation and clinical outcomes through efforts in education, research, and clinical medicine. Programs provide comprehensive treatment for kidney, liver, and pancreas.<\/p>\n\n

Burn Center<\/a><\/h2>\n

Since its opening the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center has saved hundreds of lives and restored thousands of people, both children and adults, to lives of health and productivity. At the same time, the Burn Center has advanced the scientific knowledge of burn care and rehabilitation.<\/p>\n\n

Cardiothoracic Surgery<\/a><\/h2>\n

Our surgical teams offer advanced treatments for problems of the heart, lungs, esophagus and chest. We provide excellent care of all of our patients, from newborns to people in their 90s. Gastrointestinal Surgery<\/a><\/h2>\n

The Division of GI Surgery is dedicated to providing comprehensive surgical care for patients with basic and complex gastrointestinal diseases. Patients are referred to our surgeons from across the Southeastern United States for management of a variety of benign and malignant GI disorders via open and laparoscopic approaches.<\/p>\n\n

The General, Acute Care and Trauma Division of the UNC Department of Surgery and UNC Healthcare Systems is dedicated to providing the highest quality care for injured and critically ill patients and to develop and implement multidisciplinary research programs designed to investigate the physiologic, metabolic, and pathologic states affecting patients with multiple injuries.<\/p>\n\n
