Congratulations to Michael R. Mill, M.D., of the UNC Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, who was named to the 2015-2016 Best Doctors in America® list. Dr. Mill, a cardiac surgeon, is Director of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery at UNC and is a professor of surgery and pediatrics.
Dr. Mill joined the UNC faculty in 1988 and served as chief of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery for 12 years. He started the heart transplant program at UNC and performed both the first heart-lung transplant and the first pediatric heart-lung transplant in North Carolina. He has served as director of the UNC Comprehensive Transplant Center and as program director of the UNC Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency Program, and has been active in national organizations relating to cardiothoracic surgery and residency training.
