My rotations in medical school piqued my interest in pediatric surgery and surgical oncology, but I am looking forward to gaining exposure to a variety of surgical specialties as a resident.

What were you looking for in a residency program?
I wanted an academic institution that would offer a variety of clinical experiences, research opportunities, and the ability to teach medical students. It was really important to me to train at an institution that valued and emphasized diversity in their patient population, residents, and faculty.
Favorite memory of the intern year?
One magical call night when my co-interns on call and I had time to order take out, watch a movie, and play on the robot.
Favorite place to go in NC?
Exploring the different local trails in Duke Forest, etc. and surrounding state parks like Hanging Rock. Guasaca, for the BEST arepas!
Hobbies
Anything active and outdoors including biking, running, tennis, soccer, hiking, etc.
