What were you looking for in a residency program?: Operative volume, complex patients, a program that provides care to underserved populations, and health services research opportunities.
Favorite memory of intern year: When my chief walked me through an appendectomy. I finally felt like a real surgeon! I also have a lot of good memories interacting and working with my co-interns that year. I made lifelong friends.
Favorite place to go in NC: It’s very tough to pick a single favorite. Raleigh or Durham for the food. Wrightsville beach is my get away spot. Asheville for hiking and craft brews. Durham Bulls games for a local weekend activity.
