What were you looking for in a residency program?
I was looking for a large academic center that provided me opportunities to explore different sub-specialties, get involved with research, and had a strong sense of community among the attendings and residents.
Favorite memory of the intern year
All of the times in the Intern Workroom or the slow call shifts where we could just hang out and order food. I also bought a house intern year which was fun to decorate and do home projects on.
Favorite place to go in NC
That’s definitely a toss-up between Asheville and the Outer Banks depending on the season. Both are absolutely great and have a lot to offer depending on the weather.

Any open aorta case
Hobbies
College football (We Are…Penn State!), reading historical non-fiction, making homemade Italian food
