DESCRIPTION:UNC CCCR Speaker Series\nSpeaker:\nElena Losina\, PhD\nRobert W. Lovett Professor of Orthopedic Surgery\nHarvard Medical School\nDirector\, VERITY Methodology Core\nBrigham and Women’s Hospital\nTalk Title: Value of Knee OA Treatments \nBrief Description: Knee osteoarthritis is a debilitating painful condition affecting quality of life. Currently\, there is no disease-modifying treatments to halt the progression of knee OA. Treatments are focused symptom alleviation. Provision of value-based care is centered on efficacy and economic efficiency. The cost-effectiveness measures both efficacy and effectiveness in a single outcome measure. In this talk I will highlight the assessments of value for non-pharmacologic\, pharmacologic\, and surgical treatments for knee OA. \nRegister to Attend

DESCRIPTION:Speaker:\nProfessor Kim Bennell\, FAHMS\nMelbourne Laureate Prof.\nRedmond Barry Distinguished Prof.\nDept. of Physiotherapy\, Melbourne School of Health Sciences\nThe University of Melbourne\n  \nTalk Title: Digital Delivery of Osteoarthritis Lifestyle Care\nBrief Description:\nCore recommended lifestyle treatments are under-utilised in the management of knee osteoarthritis. There are many barriers to the adoption and effectiveness of lifestyle care include inadequate patient knowledge\, time constraints\, cost\, limited allied health access\, and poor adherence with lack of support for behaviour change. This presentation will present research into the way digital technologies can be used to overcome some of these barriers and improve outcomes for people with knee osteoarthritis.\n  \nRegister in advance for this meeting\nAfter registering\, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

SUMMARY:TARC Research Seminar Series: Joe Hart\, PhD\, ATC\, "Precision Care for Patients with Lower Extremity Musculoskeletal Impairments
DESCRIPTION:TARC Research Seminar Series\nSpeaker:\nJoe Hart\, PhD\, ATC\nProfessor and Vice Chair for Research\nUniversity of North Carolina\, Chapel Hill\n  \nTalk Title: Precision Care for Patients with Lower Extremity Musculoskeletal Impairments\nBrief Description: \nPrecision medicine is paramount for accurate diagnosis and effective management of musculoskeletal conditions. Physically active patients who suffer lower extremity injuries such as anterior cruciate ligament tears often elect for surgical reconstruction (ACLR) to restore joint stability. Persistent muscle weakness\, altered movement patterns\, reduced physical activity levels and accelerated degenerative joint disease leading to osteoarthritis are all common consequences in patients recovering from ACLR. Early recognition and effective management rely on precise and innovative approaches to characterizing and monitoring impairments and developing and implementing targeted therapies. Successful discovery and advancement in this area requires interdisciplinary collaborations leading to programs that align with the patient journeys in our clinical practices.

SUMMARY:CCCR Speakers Series: Dr. Trevor Lentz; "Mental Health Phenotyping in Osteoarthritis: From Concept to Implementation"
DESCRIPTION:“Mental Health Phenotyping in Osteoarthritis: From Concept to Implementation”\nMental health needs can have a significant impact on treatment outcomes for osteoarthritis. Clinical phenotyping has strong potential to inform the development of tailored treatment pathways that address common mental health needs. In this presentation\, Dr. Lentz will describe a line of work focused on using routinely-administered screening tools to identify mental health phenotypes among people with osteoarthritis. He will then discuss challenges and opportunities associated with implementing phenotype-specific treatment pathways in a comprehensive osteoarthritis management program at Duke University. \nTrever Lentz\, PhD\nAssistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery\nDuke University School of Medicine\nRegister to Attend
