Brian Diekman, PhD, at the UNC Thurston Arthritis Research Center and Kayla Darris, a 2019 UNC Medical Students in Aging Research (MSTAR) student from the University of Arizona received American Geriatrics Society’s (AGS) 2020 Best Abstract Award.

Their abstract, “The effect of long-term systemic treatment with the senolytics dastinib and quercetin on age-related osteoarthritis,” was chosen as one of the best abstracts submitted in the category of Geriatric Bioscience based on average score, quality, originality and methodology of research.
