UNC CCCR Pilot Grant Application<\/h4>\n

Independently funded researchers<\/strong> (i.e., faculty, trainees with grants) can apply to receive up to $10,000 of pilot funding in a calendar year. A stipulation of this funding award is the allocation of at least half of the pilot funding received towards resources offered by the UNC CCCR<\/a> (e.g., if $5000 is awarded, $2500 will be used for CCCR services). Allowable costs for this funding include research supplies, travel, computing\/analytic\/data costs, publication fees, staff\/student support, but exclude allocation towards the researcher\u2019s salary. The applicant\u2019s successful use of this pilot funding will be evaluated by metrics such as paper(s) submitted to journals, preliminary data used in grant submissions, and abstracts presented at national and\/or international meetings.<\/p>\n

Non-independently funded researchers <\/strong>(i.e., post-docs, fellows, junior faculty) can apply to receive a $2,500 voucher (larger amounts available as above on a case-by-case basis). Allowable costs for this funding include UNC CCCR Methodology and Resource Core services and research supplies, travel, computing\/analytic\/data costs, publication fees, staff\/student support, but exclude allocation towards the researcher\u2019s salary. The applicant\u2019s successful use of this pilot funding will be evaluated by metrics such as paper(s) submitted to journals and abstracts presented at national and\/or international meetings.<\/p>\n

Applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis. The number of awards will depend on available pilot grant funding and CCCR priorities. All pilot award recipients will be asked for brief progress reports focused on these metrics every 6 months for up to 2 years post award end and will be expected to present at an ABC session<\/a> and at TARC Research Day<\/a>. Recipients may also present to the broader CCCR community and\/or the Community Advisory Board as appropriate. Awardees should cite the grant support in any products, e.g., \u201cthis project was funded in part by NIH\/NIAMS P30AR072580.\u201d<\/p>\n
