P. Ribeiro, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine, a joint Associate Professor in the Department of Cell Biology and Physiology and an <a class=\"external-link\" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/cfpulmcenter\/about-us\/faculty\/ribeiro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">investigator in the UNC Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Center<\/a>. Her research focuses on studies of airway inflammatory responses relevant to CF, COPD and asthma. For the UNC Center for Tobacco Regulatory Science and Lung Health, Dr. Ribeiro serves as a Co-Investigator for <a class=\"internal-link\" title=\"\" href=\"\/tcors-lung\/research-projects\/the-effect-of-netps-on-lung-hydration-and-inflammation\" target=\"_self\">Project I<\/a>, which explores the effect of tobacco products on lung hydration, inflammation-induced Unfolded Protein Response and changes in nucleotide metabolism.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Project I Co-Investigator Carla M.
