The Environmental influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Program aims to improve the health of children and adolescents for generations to come by generating research that can inform healthcare practices, programs, and policies.

As the program approaches its 10‑year anniversary in 2026, Abacus Evaluation, working in partnership with the ECHO Cohort Coordinating Center and the NIH Program Office, is leading a comprehensive, mixed‑methods evaluation of ECHO’s progress. This evaluation examines the program’s achievements to date, identifies opportunities to strengthen programmatic processes and practices, and highlights how ECHO has advanced child health outcomes thus far.
