The American Physiological Society (APS) sponsors an early career advocacy fellowship to engage researchers in \u201cadvocacy activities and provide them with skills to become long-term advocates for scientific research.\u201d Yael-Natalie Escobar, who received her PhD from CiTEM in December, is a recipient of the APS Early Career Advocacy Fellowship which will enable her to work with the APS Science Policy Committee on specific projects, such as drafting policy memos related to current legislation and meeting with Members of Congress.
