With more than 25 years of experience applying statistical methods to clinical trials and observational studies, and as the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health Director of the CSCC, Dr. Anstrom lends seasoned statistical expertise to the CRA. Dr. Anstrom joined the UNC-Chapel Hill faculty in February 2022. Dr. Anstrom has substantial experience in leadership of NIH-funded coordinating centers and clinical trial oversight. For the previous 25 years, he was a clinical researcher, first on staff and then on faculty, at the Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI) and published more than 300 manuscripts. Dr. Anstrom has served as the PI or Co-PI for multiple coordinating centers, including IPFnet, GUIDE-IT, Heart Failure Clinical Research Network, TACT2, TRANSFORM, CleanUP-IPF, and SPIRRIT-HFpEF. He is also the mPI for the Back Pain Consortium (BACPAC) Research Program Data Integration, Algorithm Development, and Operations Management Center (DAC).
