The 16th annual Floyd A. Fried Advances in Urology Symposium was a great success and highlighted many new developments in the field with a range of topics that included:
- Opioid stewardship within the urologic community
- Office evaluation for the azoospermic, infertile male
- AUA Updates on Renal Mass and Renal Cancer as well as the timing for nephrectomy
- Review of transgendered medicine and current healthcare policy in North Carolina regarding transgendered issues
This year’s symposium was held at the Rizzo Conference Center in Chapel Hill on June 22nd & 23rd and featured keynote presentations from:
Daniel Lin, MD – Professor and Chief of Urologic Oncology in the Department of Urology, the Director of the Institute for Prostate Cancer Research, and holds the Pritt Family Endowed Chair in Prostate Cancer Research at the University of Washington School of Medicine.
Victor Nitti, MD – Professor of Urology and Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Vice Chairman of the Department of Urology at New York University Langone Medical Center. He is also the head of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery.Thank you to all who attended this year’s symposium and we look forward to hosting you again next year.
