On Saturday, October 18, members of UNC Urology joined colleagues from the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the annual ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk in Raleigh. The event, held on NC State’s Lake Raleigh campus, brought together survivors, families, healthcare professionals, and advocates in the shared mission to end prostate cancer.

The joint UNC Urology and UNC Lineberger tent served as a vibrant hub at the event, offering educational materials, community resources, and Carolina-blue swag to participants. Faculty, staff, and other volunteers from both programs came together early that morning to help with setup, registration, and course coordination, showcasing the teamwork and service that define the Carolina spirit.

The energy of the morning was unmistakable, and thanks to the collective efforts of volunteers, participants, and supporters, the Raleigh event raised over $96,000 to support prostate cancer research, education, and patient services.

The event was organized by ZERO Prostate Cancer, a national nonprofit dedicated to ending prostate cancer through awareness, research, and advocacy. For UNC Urology and UNC Lineberger, the event also served as another meaningful touchpoint in their shared mission to promote men’s health and ensure access to life-saving screenings and care.
