His journey in urology led him through a urologic residency at Wayne State University, a research fellowship in Pediatric Urology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, and a clinical fellowship in Pediatric Urology at the Children\u2019s Hospital of Michigan.<\/p>\n<p>Board-certified in Pediatric Urology, Dr. Bukowski specializes in complex reconstruction of the genitourinary system, correction of hypospadias, and the management of bladder exstrophy patients. His recent research contributions include work on the NIH-funded RIVUR study, focusing on the effect of prophylactic antibiotics in treating children with vesicoureteral reflux.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond his clinical and research excellence, Dr. Bukowski is actively involved in professional organizations, including the American College of Surgeons, the Pediatric section of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Urological Association, and the Society of Pediatric Urology. He also served as a past Board member for the North Carolina Pediatric Society Foundation and contributes as a reviewer for peer-reviewed urology journals.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Bukowski&#8217;s dedication extends to education, as evidenced by various resident teaching awards and his recognition as a &#8220;Best Doctor in America&#8221; by his peers for many years. Beyond the medical field, he is a USA Hockey Master level coach, actively involved in the coach Continuing Education Program.<\/p>\n<p>UNC Urology is proud to have Dr. Timothy Bukowski as part of our team, and we extend our heartfelt congratulations on this well-deserved recognition.<\/p>\n<h2>About NCPeds<\/h2>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncpeds.org\/\">North Carolina Pediatric Society (NCPeds),<\/a> the state-affiliate Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, plays a vital role in advocating for child health at regional, state, and federal levels.
