With a strong emphasis on surgical excellence and clinical depth, the program covers conditions such as Peyronie\u2019s disease, hypogonadism, male infertility, and genital reconstructive surgery. Fellows train alongside nationally recognized experts\u2014positioning them to become future leaders in men\u2019s health and andrology.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Matthew-Onabanjo brings a unique blend of clinical excellence and research distinction to this next phase of her career. Her scholarly work has already made significant contributions to the field of men\u2019s health, particularly in urologic prosthetics. She is first author on a comprehensive literature review titled \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/39122239\/\">Testicular Prostheses: A Historical and Current Review of the Literature<\/a>\u201d published in Sexual Medicine Reviews, which explores evolving implant technologies\u2014including 3D-printed testicular prostheses\u2014and their psychosocial impact on patients.<\/p>\n<p>She also served as co-lead author with her twin sister, who is a graduating chief urology resident at VCU, on \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/39280674\/\">Perioperative Infection Prevention During Inflatable Penile Prosthesis Surgery: A Narrative Review<\/a>\u201d, a detailed analysis of pre-, intra-, and postoperative strategies to minimize infections during prosthesis implantation. Published in Translational Andrology and Urology, this work reflects her commitment to surgical quality and patient safety in prosthetic urology.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Matthew-Onabanjo\u2019s match represents a significant milestone and underscores the strength of UNC Urology\u2019s residency training program in preparing the next generation of academic urologists.
