\"Dr.UNC Urology is proud to share that Dr. Gopal Narang<\/a>, Assistant Professor of Urology, has been invited to participate in the Trans-Atlantic Leaders in Endourological Technologies (TALENTS) 2026 meeting<\/a>, an international gathering of leading experts advancing the field of endourology.<\/p>\n

The meeting will take place June 4\u20136, 2026 in Istanbul, T\u00fcrkiye, bringing together an international faculty of distinguished clinicians and emerging leaders focused on the latest innovations in endourological technologies and minimally invasive surgery.<\/p>\n

Designed to foster collaboration between established experts and rising voices in the field, TALENTS provides an interactive scientific program focused on shaping the future of stone disease management, endoscopic surgery, and advanced technologies in urology.<\/p>\n

Representing UNC Urology on the International Stage<\/h2>\n

Dr. Narang was invited to serve as faculty for the conference, joining a select group of academic urologists from North America, Europe, and across the globe. The program features speakers from many of the world\u2019s leading institutions and is structured around rapid-fire debates, roundtables, and collaborative discussions on the most pressing questions in modern endourology.<\/p>\n

As part of the scientific program, Dr. Narang will participate in a Face-to-Face expert debate titled \u201cWhat an expert should teach?<\/em>\u201d, where international leaders will present differing perspectives on surgical education and training.<\/p>\n

Dr. Narang will present the viewpoint \u201cEfficiency Always<\/em>,\u201d while his counterpart in the session, Dr. Hsiang-Ying Lee of Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital in Taiwan, will advocate for the position \u201cSafety First<\/em>.\u201d The session will take place on June 6 as part of the conference\u2019s final day of scientific programming.<\/p>\n

The debate format highlights one of the defining features of the TALENTS meeting\u2014encouraging open dialogue and contrasting perspectives among experts working at the forefront of technological innovation in urology.<\/p>\n

Advancing Innovation in Endourology<\/h2>\n

Dr. Narang\u2019s participation reflects his growing national and international reputation in endourology and minimally invasive surgical techniques.<\/p>\n

After earning his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Dr. Narang completed his urology residency at the University of North Carolina before pursuing a fellowship in Endourology and Minimally Invasive Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona.<\/p>\n

He returned to UNC in 2022 to join the faculty, where his clinical practice focuses on stone disease, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and advanced minimally invasive surgical approaches.<\/p>\n

Dr. Narang has played a key role in expanding access to advanced treatments for BPH at UNC, including Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP)<\/a>\u2014a minimally invasive procedure that provides durable symptom relief and rapid recovery for patients with enlarged prostates.<\/p>\n

Dr. Narang\u2019s invitation to participate in TALENTS 2026 reflects the continued global engagement of UNC Urology faculty and the department\u2019s commitment to advancing surgical innovation and education.<\/p>\n

By contributing to international discussions on emerging technologies, training philosophy, and the future of endourology, UNC faculty continue to help shape how the next generation of urologists approach complex surgical care.<\/p>\n
