Interventional Radiology was recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties as a unique specialty and has been approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education as a residency that can be entered directly from medical school. In light of these changes, this program has been created to raise medical student awareness about the history of the specialty, the training path required and the practice of Interventional Radiology. The event will consist of a half day meeting and will involve presentations by faculty, fellows and students, with ample time for the attendees to visit with our industry supporters to learn more about the technical aspects of the specialty.
