It also outlines site development options.<\/p>\n<h2>Pick A URL<\/h2>\n<p>The default URL of all School of Medicine websites is\u00a0<strong>med.unc.edu\/sitename<\/strong> or <strong>med.unc.edu\/department\/sitename<\/strong>. For example: <strong><a class=\"external-link\" href=\"http:\/\/med.unc.edu\/pathology\" rel=\"nofollow\">med.unc.edu\/pathology<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong><a class=\"external-link\" href=\"http:\/\/med.unc.edu\/htcenter\" rel=\"nofollow\">med.unc.edu\/htcenter<\/a>.<\/strong> Divisions, labs and centers that have their own (separate) website will have a URL that is an extension of their department website. For example, the URL for Allied Health Sciences is <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/healthsciences\" rel=\"nofollow\">med.unc.edu\/healthsciences<\/a><\/strong>. The URL for their Radiologic Science division is\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/med.unc.edu\/healthsciences\/radisci\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">med.unc.edu\/healthsciences\/radisci<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Assign A Site Administrator<\/h2>\n<p>Each website is require to have a <strong>Primary Site Administrator<\/strong>. This person is considered the business owner of the website and its content.<\/p>\n<h2>Training<\/h2>\n<p>Anyone who is assigned the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/webguide\/userguide\/sharing-permissions\/\">Administrator role<\/a><\/strong>, is required to attend our Introductory Web Training class. The SOM IT Web Team regularly offers virtual training sessions that teach the fundamentals of WordPress. We also have extensive documentation in our <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/webguide\/userguide\/\">User Guide<\/a><\/strong> that shows you how to use the SOM web system.
