UNC Medical Bulletin

The UNC Medical Bulletin magazine is published three times a year by the UNC Medical Foundation. It is the primary communications piece to alumni, parents, corporations, foundations and friends.

Well

Well is a quarterly publication produced by the Public Affairs & Marketing department. The 16-page, glossy magazine is designed to educate the community about healthy lifestyle choices and to promote the programs, services and experts at UNC Health Care. It is mailed to more than 50,000 households in the surrounding counties and several thousand copies are distributed throughout the hospital lobbies and clinics.

UNC Physician Consult

UNC Physician Consult is a publication designed to promote UNC Health Care’s programs and services to more than 11,000 physicians across North Carolina. It is distributed six times a year as an insert publication within Physicians Practice Magazine.

UNC Health Care Annual Report

The Annual Report is produced once a year and gives an accounting of the past year’s activities in areas such as research, patient care and finances.

Internal Publications

Connections

Connections is UNC Health Care’s biweekly employee newsletter. Published every other Tuesday, Connections includes announcements of upcoming events, recaps of events and articles about programs and services provided by and for employees.

If you have an announcement or would like to discuss a story idea for Connections, please contact Public Affairs at least one month in advance of your event.

A link to the electronic version of each issue of Connections is e-mailed to UNC Health Care employees via Employee News Online (see below). Paper copies of Connections are available throughout the Hospitals in boxes labeled “Employee News.” These boxes are located at many elevator banks, near the cafés and at the Hospitals’ lobby information desks.

Employee News Online

UNC Health Care Employee News Online is distributed electronically each Wednesday to more than 5,000 UNC Health Care employees. The online newsletter features announcements and reminders about upcoming events, as well as updates from Hospitals’ leadership.

If you have an announcement that you would like to submit to Employee News Online, contact Public Affairs & Marketing. Only those messages relevant to the majority of UNC Health Care employees will be included in Employee News Online. Submissions for the weekly e-mail are due by 5 p.m. the preceding Monday.

Other internal publications

Many departments throughout the Health Care System, such as Nursing and Human Resources, publish departmental newsletters. These newsletters publish at different times with varying deadlines and submission requirements, so please contact each department specifically to learn the details of its publication.
